Buying new Dj equipment can be a
financially daunting experience. The industry standard turntables, mixers and
monitors a Dj needs to feel sure that he or she is giving their money's worth
in every situation often cost well over £1,000: a lot of money to spend on

New - which, as its name suggests, is all about selling premium quality dj equipment at astonishing prices. Take, for example, the standard CD turntable
used across the industry - which is available repackaged on the site for more
than £300 less than it is in shops. Or their simple selection of "B
Stock" (B Stock basically refers to any item that has been used as a
display model, or as a demo model at a trade show) turntables, some of which

The business model is very simple
to maintain, which is why these sites are able to keep themselves afloat. While
there's nothing wrong with dj gear that has been used for window display, in a
trade show or simply repackaged (sometimes a new package comes out that makes
existing stock obsolete), it can't be sold in stores any more. Certainly it
can't be sold for the prices the manufacturers sell their newly packaged or
unused stock at. Which means it's either not going to get sold at all - or
sites like Why Buy New can pick it up super cheap and sell it on at
correspondingly low prices.
